Joining policy

nusa-IX is open to any network that can meet a short list of technical and administrative requirements. The policy is deliberately simple and applied equally to every member.

Requirements

  • A public ASN of your own, or sponsorship by an existing member.
  • A BGP-4 capable router able to maintain stable sessions.
  • Registered, publicly routable address space only.
  • Up to date contact details in PeeringDB and an IRR record for announced prefixes.
  • Presence in the metro facility, or a carrier delivering your port to the MMR.

Member obligations

  • Announce a consistent AS_PATH; no next-hop other than your own port address.
  • No default routing or pointing static routes at another member without consent.
  • One MAC address per port; no proxy ARP, directed broadcast or link-local protocols.
  • Keep NOC contacts reachable 24/7 and respond to abuse or incident notices.
  • Traffic to a member is only sent when that member announces the prefix to you.
